MATHEMATICS

   Note:  Automatic application of basic factsis essential.  Regular practice at  home is expected.             

 

·         Number Theory:  Read and write decimals and order a list of decimals to the thousandths

·         Estimation/Calculation:  Review addition and subtraction of whole numbers, multiplication of 2 and 3 digit whole numbers, place value

·         Geometry:  Volume, property of polygons, angles, coordinate graphing, and areas of shapes

·         Measurement of metric units, volume conversion of measurements: customary and metric

·         Fractions and Decimals:  Fraction wholes and parts, compare fractions, greatest common factor, least common multiple; equivalent fractions, convert fractions to decimals; add, subtract and multiply, divide fractions, one prime factorization of whole numbers

·         Data Collection:  Mean, mode, organizing data (tables), gathering and analyzing - construct and interpret line graph

·         Division:  Divide using a two-digit divisor and a four-digit

 

 

dividend to find the estimated and actual quotients

·         Algebra Concepts and Skills:  Algebraic expressions

 

SOCIAL STUDIES

Students will focus primarily on the study of the early history of the United States, through the Westward Expansion.  Geography, economics, and civic responsibility are included in this study.
